As Predicted

The Democratic control of the legislature has inspired the President to suggest not spending so much.

Too bad he didn't do that for the last 6 years.

Paul, even if Bush is talking about "not spending so much," he is INCREASING the already ridiculous amount he is already spending. Also, the Democrats are probably going to complain about whatever "cuts" he is making, and I would not be surprised to see a notable increase in the budget once they get through with it. Hardly a victory as far as I'm concerned.

I guess the question is, which 2008 presidential candidate is the most fiscally conservative? I'm leaning towards McCain right now, but he might keep paying for the Iraq war or some other military operation...

McCain is just another big government Republican, and he's against the Constitution to boot.

We can only hope the President will find his veto pen, but I doubt it. I noted the article because it's the first time in 6 years the Administration has even mentioned fiscal restraint.
