Balistic Fingerprinting

Yet another unessessary gun law is exposed for what it is, just another way to increase the cost of a handgun.

Of course, no one will be able to get a comment out of the gun control supporters on this, and I'd be very suprised to see any action taken to repeal the law.

The intent of the law was to increase the costs of purchasing a handgun - I think the hope was that handgun manufacturers would decline to participate, effectively banning handguns in the state.

Everyone knew when the bill was passed that it was worthless WRT crime fighting, since ballistic fingerprinting is essentially worthless given one can alter the fingerprint with ease, regardless of th efact that criminals aren't buying handguns legally in the first place.
